Forget the Rooster!

A few years ago around Christmas my boss said to me and the Vice President "I know what I am getting you guys for Christmas. I am going to get you each a rooster!"

So... I have a hard time making it to work on-time. I am supposed to be to work around 8:30ish... but, somedays I get in at 9 or ... so...

Anyway, I had to get up WAY early yesterday. We went to a groundbreaking ceremony for the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge. My boss REALLY wanted to take the train. And, I am not going to lie, I got really excited too. I have been reading The Other Boelyn Girl for 6 months now (I am not exaggerating, I don't have much time to read). But, as soon as Joe saw the book, he told me that I wouldn't be permitted to read, I had to talk to him the entire time. Just because he can't read...sheesh.
The train took off at 6:44 AM. So, I had to get up in the 5 o'clock hour! Yikes. A co-worker came with us because she had a meeting. I was on-time, but she was running way late. It was literally like a scene from a movie. She jumped on the train and the doors shut right behind her. But, she lost a shoe strap in the process. Joe offered to buy her new ones. Then he looked at me, and I smiled my prettiest smile and voile...

Guess what that means? We had to go shoe shopping. Joe flashed his black AMEX and we were allowed to go into Nordstrom before it was even open. We had three associates bringing us on shoes... RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE shoes.

These were the ones that I picked out. I LOVE KATE SPADE! I MEAN I LOVE LOVE LOVE KATE SPADE! Joe approved them and Nordstrom approved his black AMEX and now look what I got!

On the way home I asked Joe what he would get me if I came in by 8:30 AM everyday until the rest of the year! He told me that he would gladly give me a paycheck!

Who needs a rooster??? I am pretty sure I don't want to be anything but late, it sure did pay off.
